How long is a session?
A session is typically 30 minutes long. Our set-up and tear-down time is not included in the 30 minutes. Time spent on clothing, location and pose changes will be included in the session time.
What is the ‘Pre-Consultation’?
We meet with you to discuss the style, tone and personality of your portrait. You may choose your location (indoors or outdoors) or choose one of our studio backgrounds. This consultation is a service we provide to each client for free.
Where are you located?
We have a home studio in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. We also work on location if requested.
What should I do to prepare my pet for his/her portrait?
Make sure your dog is tired and hungry. Dogs are more cooperative after a good, long walk and much more responsive to treats when hungry. Cats will be cats and we hope they are in a good mood.
Do you provide restoration services?
Yes. We are able to restore just about any photograph you have. We can correct scratches, restore color, remove braces or blemishes. We will analyze your image and give you a quote for the restoration service. Please keep in mind that if you request restoration on a professional image, federal copyright laws may prevent us from assisting you.
Do you photograph weddings?
Wedding photography involves very specialized skills and time commitments. We prefer to capture portraits on a more intimate level. We leave the wedding photography to those that specialize in it and would be happy to refer you to one of our colleagues.
What is a studio background?
We have several studio backgrounds to choose for your portrait. We will show you samples during your Pre-Consultation. You may choose from seamless paper of various colors, painted canvas or a fabric muslin.
Can I reorder prints any time?
Yes. We will keep your images on file and you may purchase additional prints at any time. However, please keep in mind that prices do change and it may be more economical to purchase them up front.
Can I purchase a CD of my photo session?
Please keep in mind that we only use professional labs to print your images in order to maintain the highest quality. However, we do understand that digital imaging is the wave of the future. We will sell single images or a CD of your session. Please contact us for a quote from your session.
Is there a limit on the distance from the twin cities I can choose for my location portrait?
In general, we do not charge extra for locations within the metro area. Please contact us for an exact quote on travel charges for distances outside of the twin cities.
Can I make copies or scans of the images I have purchased?
Due to Federal Copyright Law, it is illegal to copy or reproduce these photographs elsewhere without our permission, and violators of this Federal Law will be subject to its civil and criminal penalties.
